A perk of starting with a fresh site is that ou would be able to leave your existing site live while you work on your new site on the backend. Then once you have your new site ready to go, you would just need to upgrade that new site to its own paid plan, move over your existing domain, and cancel your old plan, and then reach out to Squarespace support to ask them to refund the unused portion of your old Squarespace subscription.

The downside of starting with a new site is that you'd have to manually copy and paste over any content (blog included) that you'd want to keep.

This service is for our customers who have a live Squarespace 7.1 website with lots of blog content and/or products, and want a new Squarespace 7.1 template without having to start a new trial site.

We will transfer over all of your blogs and products from your existing site to your new GoLive template site.

*Please note: Blog titles, thumbnails, images, blog copy, and URL slugs will transfer over. However, some things like email opt-ins, certain summary blocks, or form blocks will not automatically transfer.
